Chery has introduced a lifetime warranty on its Rhino batteries. If a new electric vehicle is damaged due to a battery defect, the owner will receive a brand new car.
The move comes ahead of new safety regulations in China. Starting July 1, batteries must not catch fire or explode for at least two hours after thermal runaway, and must pass impact and fast charging tests.
Chery appears highly confident in its battery technology.
